Special issue

Special issue for INES-3 will be published in Progress in Nuclear Energy (PNE).  The authors whose abstracts have been accepted for the presentation at INES-3 are invited to submit full-paper manuscripts to this journal.  The format of manuscripts and the submission procedure follow the journal's regulations.
The outline of special issue is as follows:

The Hard Copy of the special issue of PNE will be delivered to all the participants of INES-3.

Manuscript submission and reviewing

The handling of the Special Issue will strictly follow the following rules and regulations.

  1. Manuscript submission procedure follows the instruction of the journal. Submission is possible from June 1 through October 20, 2010.
  2. All the manuscripts are reviewed through the regular routine of the journal.  Several Editors selected from the Scientific Committee and the Organizing Committee will handle the reviewing process. The reviewing is strictly restricted just for the Special Issue.
  3. One author who made registration can submit a full paper.

Length of manuscript

The length of each paper is limited to six printed pages. Note that it is not the number of pages of a draft manuscript to be submitted for reviewing, but the number of pages of a final printed paper to be published in the special issues, if accepted. At a rough estimate, the limit of the manuscript length corresponds to around 5500 words including figures and tables. Since a small size figure or table (9cm width x 10cm height) in a single column corresponds to 250 words, and a large size figure or table (19cm width x 10cm height) in double columns corresponds to 500 words, a 3500 word-text with 8 figures/tables (9cm width x 10cm height) will correspond to a manuscript with a length of 5500 words.

Extra charges for color pages and extensive revision

The authors of papers in the special issue of PNE will be directly responsible to the publisher: ELSEVIER Ltd. for any costs incurred as a result of color reproduction in the Hard Copy or by extensive (over 10%) revisions in galley proofs (other than typesetting errors). The Publisher has the right to delete from the paper of any author who refuses to pay such costs or color charges.

Manuscript preparation and submission to PNE

Prepare your full-paper manuscript according to the Elsevier's Guide for Authors.
Visit the PNE homepage at http://ees.elsevier.com/pnucene/.
Create a new user account unless you already have the account.
Login the Elsevier Editorial System with the account.
Choose [Submit Paper ].
Choose “Special Issue INES-3” as article type.
By following the instruction displayed, fill the submission form.
Choose “INES-3” as an editor you request.
Attach a PDF file of your manuscript.
